I love Workflow and the domain of personal productivity software in general. However it's not a domain known for attracting VC (and similar) interest because it's not consumer viral or enterprise scale. For this reason, something like the Thiel Fellowship choosing Workflow seemed delightfully odd to me. Is this usual? Can anyone think of similar examples of angels/VCs/incubators/etc. going in on personal utility apps? Or was this just a one off and/or some clever business people predicted the Apple acquisition?
