#12Apparently, this has been going on for a while. It's a shame some of the people associated with Ushahidi are at the forefront of waxing "women empowerment" on social media..and fighting manels, promoting feminism.. This must be dealt with..shame on you!
Please tell us what these women could have done to prevent harassment. If the allegations are true that man is the only one to blame. Anyone whether male or female that covered it up or threatened victims should be held to account. Take your woman-bashing elsewhere.

Sexual harassment should never be condoned at the workplace. Perpetrators should be punished according to the law and company policy. That being said I do not know whether the accused is guilty. I take this as an opportunity to talk about what this means for the local tech scene.
1. Ushahidi must take responsibility. They have issued a statement so far but it is unsigned and apparently was shared on WhatsApp.
2. People shouldn't resort to cheap insults.
3. There should be no sacred cows. Who was the board member that was allegedly approached by victims then told them to be quiet? That person needs to own up.

Nothing like women-bashing here my friend...we can't afford to be pretentious. This has been apparently reported severally and your so called feminists' reply is "We have a tech ecosystem to save"...The predator & everyone who has helped in this cover-up are one & the same thing...

I was talking about visibility. They are internationally renowned.
I agree the only people being protected here are Daudi Were, and the board members Juliana Rotich, Erik Hersman and David Kobia. These are the local directors.
You might recall that Hersman was adversely implicated last year during the Angani scandal.
