I know that opening commercial was intended to show how much we depend on apple and its services - but its kinda a great argument against centralized services... kinda weird really.

Yeah that's what I thought. Why the fuck would that be an argument to build on top of the apple ecosystem?

You can use VLC — MPlayer — or the much better — MPV to watch the stream without Safari.

I think we'll see on-device deep learning capabilities/Siri that isn't dependent on a network connection.
