It really is great, I've been using it for years -- and all my notes are stored as plain-text (markdown) files. Only downside is images really. If you want to try it, check out this more-recently-updated fork. The creator of the fork is apparently working on a replacement that I'm rather looking forward to trying. http://brettterpstra.com/projects/nvalt/

Thanks for this. I've been using Notational Velocity for years and often occasionally looked for an update but found none.

What's the replacement you mentioned? I didn't see any info on the linked site.

Vuex (https://github.com/vuejs/vuex) and vue-router (https://github.com/vuejs/vue-router) are nothing flashy, yet really solid. There are tons more in the awesome-vue repo (https://github.com/vuejs/awesome-vue).

Even though Vue has less libraries/extensions than something like React, the core: state management, routing, Vue component spec are quite good.

Thanks! No UI framework just custom SCSS. Thinking about turning it into a micro-framework if I have time.

Yeah, open to suggestions! The point is to use the keyboard for everything so mobile is tricky. Also, all the code is on GitHub ( https://github.com/tmm/notational ).

You could add a + button on the left of the "search or create" field. No risk of accidentally touching the search icon that way.

Great idea! That will definitely make it's way in.

Shortcuts do not work at all for me on OSX, I'd try this once that is fixed.

Really Nice! Small nitpick: Displays really well on mobile, however, creating a note requires user to hit ctrl+enter, which is not easy to do on a phone.

I don't think this comment should be dead - adamcccc's confusion illustrates the interesting naming used for this product and how it can cause confusion. Looks like NV[0] has seen and approved of it, but it still seems like an odd choice.
