Isn't it weird that when it comes to desktop apps and particularly UI toolkits, we freak out when things don't match the OS style perfectly, but with applications on the web --- many of which are more UI-intensive than native apps --- we're constantly looking for the CSS Zen Garden?

So long as desktop apps don't mimic kai's power tool interface, I think a little variety on the desktop side is nice, so long as it fits function to a meaningful degree.

So an audio mixing applic might do something in a different way than office's ribbon ui.

I figured it out. You have to click the 'Primary', 'Secondary' boxes in the bottom right.

Which Google apps have ditched it? The FAB makes a lot of sense on small screens like smartphones.

They're not the original design for buttons, only a couple use the original design now (calendar for example).

The original design was click the button and a load of small buttons appear.

Keep ditched it completely, Drive has a slide up, I think Clock used to use it, others have disappeared.

They've abandoned the original concept.

Paletton is really good. It also allows you to simulate Color Blindness of various types so you can plan for those users in your color selection as well.

Yes, it is really helpful, especially useful to match the secondary color when primary color is defined.
