Cool. I have to admit I haven't thought about Wine in a while because I can't think of any software I use that doesn't have a Linux version. What are people's use-cases nowadays?
Old games for instance :) I love this game from the late 90s called Thief: the dark project from Looking Glass Studios. I don't think there is any way to run it properly on a modern computer without wine or virtualization (which would require a copy of Windows 98).
Sadly AFAIK he's still doing that anonymously through a french forum or something, probably because legally he shouldn't have the code. Despite that all modern re-releases of the games that used the Dark Engine (like those on Steam and GOG) are based on NewDark instead of the original engine.
