#2Crikey. The US price for the 64G + 3G model works out to GBP 563 at current exchange rate, versus GBP 699. That is fucking outrageous.

699 GPB in the UK includes tax, right? The ~563 GBP US price doesn't.

#4psychological manipulation: Why Apple choose to give out EU/UK iPad price with tax while US price where without Tax? My guess is they wanted to avoid direct comparison of US price to EU/UK price. Why so? bcoz they are bumping up the price :-). All Apple fan boys, keep discussing if the prices are equivalent or not much different etc.

As far as I understand it in the US each state has different sales taxes so the norm is to quote without tax. For the UK at least it's all the same VAT (17.5%) so the norm (for consumers at least) is to quote with taxes.

The norm in Europe is quoting and posting prices with VAT included.

It looks like the sweet spot in pricing is the 16G + 3G model, at least for the Euro market. I was recently in the US and almost purchased one, which would have been $686 after taxes, or €539 - only a €40 difference (and I wouldn't have had warranty coverage in Europe of course).

Considering VAT is included, and the exchange rate for Euro/USD is $1.27 per Euro, I think you guys are getting a good deal right now.
My friends in the UK are used to paying pretty much the equivalent price in pounds vs. dollars. So, for example, a $300 Nvidia GFX card usually costs 300 pounds sterling in the UK.
It's hard to believe you're complaining about the prices being as low as they are. Blame Greece if you think they should be lower.
