What magic are you talking about? Various .Net frameworks have silly amounts of magic, but C# itself?
Silly amounts of magic? Ever looked at a Java Spring project?!

#62Nice. Now please make C# a first-class citizen in Android and start to migrate from Java to C#.
Doesn't Xamarin compile C# to Java/Dalvik bytecode already?
After my experience with Mono on past .NET versions, I'm skeptical of any of these "compiles to x" schemes.

No thanks. I like Java, and esp Java 8 just fine.
Why would someone down vote an opinion that they are okay with Java? It added to the conversation. Personally I prefer C# and Swift to Java but others idea are just as valid.

#65I like the laptop with a bunch of lovely Microsoft technologies, and then WiX. Please, please die WiX. Imperative XML + non-deterministic execution order + the worst error messages of the entire stack. I love C# and the CLR, but damn WiX sucks.

Google have not made their own languages Dart/Go official to Android. Why would they make languages other than Java a priority now?
I love Go, but it's not really a suitable language to do UI, or anything that deals with data models.
C#, however, is a perfect replacement for Java, most of the times. I would say "it's simply superior in every imaginable metric other than cross-platform implementations of the compiler/VM" but that's just my opinion.

That would be huge win for Microsoft, presumably if Android apps are written in C# they will be easy to port or have shared libraries with windows apps.
Is that something Google wants? I don't see the advantage for them short of adding on C# devs
Of course, this would only work if they switch languages, which I don't see the Android team doing willingly without upper management "help".
