Walking Away from VC

This is a story about:

--Why a startup founder walked away from $100,000 in venture capital and took a regular job.

--What hidden dangers lurked in this seemingly safe job with a large organization.

--How, through negotiating these dangers, he learned how to be a much better entrepreneur.

From the article: Whatever I did from here on out, I told my counselor, it would be as part of a team.

Therapy can be expensive. This is a good case for having co-founders.

A few problems with this article:

1. Nine pages? Put it all on one page. Almost everyone has broadband now.

2. Got government grants to develop his startup and still failed? This is the wrong place to complain. Lots of people here would love a handout (that's what it is), but never get the chance.

3. Too long. Hacker news is for 5 minute breaks. That story could have been 50% as long.

In spite of all that, great read. I had to keep going to find out what happened. Nice enough guy. Sure hope he gets everything to work out.

Seem like the author took down the story.. I was reading till page 4 and then its gone.. It was a great story though... Please put it back if you are reading this, Chris

I saved it on my delicious to read it later, and then I found it was gone. I really what I read on the article first so now it's a pity if I can't read it. I wish it'll be back soon.
