The company I work at has a good solution to this. We fly candidates out for an onsite interview and at the end of the day, if we decide we want to hire them, we give them an offer in person. Our goal is to get them to verbally accept before they head back home.

If you were to indicate, in any way, that you'd retract the offer unless I accept right there before I head home, I'd reject it right there before I head home.

In other words, I don't think that's a good solution at all.
