This shit takes five steps to work properly and looks extremely delicate as well. How are you supposed to carry this around safely? The 3D printed part is basically a giant lever for breaking the three way stopcock into three parts. I'm not even sure this does more good than harm to be quite honest. What happens if using this thing incorrectly kills you? Given it's so hard to use, it's pretty easy to see that happeni…

The creator of this "3D printed Epi Injector" evidently does not understand the problem that actually needs to be solved.

I agree with you, it does look wonky. Maybe in person it would be better. Honestly I am just pissed at the greed that drove the issue more than anything.

People and competitors have been trying to, and some have, gotten FDA approval for alternatives. Greed itself is not inherently bad; greed could be the thing driving you to choose one of the alternatives over the EpiPen. Or perhaps reform the FDA rules that led to this situation in the first place.

#17In this case though, you're smashing the ampule inside a (non-sterile) container, which will keep all the broken glass, and mix it with the solution (along with any bacteria that have taken up residence on the outside of the ampule, or the inside of the 'ampule breaker' thing).
You're then supposed to draw that up (in a process far _more_ complicated than just drawing up a medication from a vial) and inject it into someone? No thanks...

#19I like it. It breaks the neck not the glass. Micro glass particles in muscle are meaningless anyway. Sterility is meaningless. Epi outside in air oxidizes and its effect is compromised. It's life or death. Plus what's anyone else doing to save $ for those who can't afford epipen. It's a start. Jmo
Which is still not a perfect replacement for an autoinjector, but it's better than this contraption.
