Agree. Here's an Ambient Sparse one (generated before I saw this one) https://www.jukedeck.com/share/a0126f548a92b5e60df8e78e3a629... I'm specifically curious how much variation there is between tracks -- perhaps we can get more HNers to post?
There should be a fair bit of variation - the music is composed note by note and chord by chord, which means there are loads of different possibilities. But increasing the variation is another thing we're working on!

I would use this for my personal videos. I've had videos taken down from Facebook before because, even though I was just sharing it with friends, I used a track that was protected by copyright. Being able to construct a track with the right feel without worrying about copyright would be amazing for a simple video editor or on something like Instagram.
"Just sharing with friends" is still copyright infringement. The owner of the copyright--not you--gets to decide how the work is reproduced and distributed, unless you have a defense like fair use. (I'm not saying this is always a good thing; it's just how the law works.)

It's realistic. Nothing at all against Jukedeck, nice work and so on, but these automatic composition tools are also available to any other musicians out there, and (as you may have noticed) there's an oversupply of musicians who are demonstrably more passionate than any startup entrepreneur because most of them are willing to keep plugging away at their musical endeavor for its own sake rather than because they have any hope of becoming rich or even making an adequate living. Jukedeck is doomed for the same reason that a startup offering robotic table waiters to restaurants is doomed; there's an oversupply of humans willing to do a much better job for relatively little money.

An interesting Version 2 would be a way to construct a song for a particular video (perhaps ingesting the Adobe Premiere project file)... Thanks - really interesting idea. We can already make the exact duration and number of beats work, so it would be a question of lining that up with various points in the video.

#58Will look forward to drilling down into your samples, once the site stops getting slammed. In the meantime, you may want to replace the live auto-generation demo with a genuinely random (i.e. non-upvoted, or otherwise curated) pre-generated samples (that is to say: fairly representative of your automatic generative process, even though they happen to be pre-recorded).
Being as every second is precious, to a first-time user of your site. And as we know, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a rigged demo."

#59Feature Request: Allow playback of the track that has a row for each of the instruments that you can mute/unmute to isolate. Then allow regeneration of a specific instrument within the track.

Yeah, but you're probably not willing to pay enough to make it profitable if your videos are for personal entertainment only rather than aiming at any kind of significant audience.
