There's a lot to learn here about what money is and how banks operate. That necessarily involves a historical perspective.

Any good Economics Text book will do: like Principles of Economics/ Principles of Microeconomics, Gregory Mankiw

I took Andrew Ng's machine learning class twice (scored >99% both times). That was my favorite. I have been working in the AI field since the 1980s, including a lot of neural network applications, but I still found his class to be an incredible source of practical knowledge.

Other favorites were Martin Odersky's functional programming with Scala and Erik Meijer's Haskell class at eDX.

Not new - but I had the most fun and most progress with learning French with https://www.duolingo.com/ My kids got into it as well and at one point we would all sit together and do one lesson a day.
