Just adopt https://cheeaun.github.io/hackerweb/ it does wonders on phone/tablet form factors. This design will not easily accomodate slightly larger displays such as tablets very well. Now that you're returning to different results for mobile vs not: how about Upvote on the left (where it is) and downvote on the right of "hours ago"? I don't want the buttons bigger (and I suspect others don't either) but I would prefer not to accidentally up/downvote incorrectly.

Alternately, how about being able to undo a vote, like reddit?
I remember we discussed that. I think once-for-all votes were an attempt at social engineering to shape the site.
It's a bit reminiscent of the purported ancient Rome thumbs-down (or thumbs-up).

#117I actually think it's much harder to read in portrait mode since the titles have all different lengths. It's okay in landscape though.

#118Looks much better on iphone 6. No longer have to zoom to read. But some of the UI buttons are still too small (comments, etc.)
Also, I don't think the numbers on the left add much value and may be better replaced with bigger up vote button.
