SerpApi’s job postings show up every single month without fail in "Ask HN: Who is hiring?" threads. A quick search brings up 8 pages of results for SerpApi. For context, Tesla—a massive company with far more roles, market cap, and global operations—only has 14 pages. Even MixRank, another notorious repeat offender, only has 7 pages. It’s crazy how often SerpApi posts here. What’s going on? Either they’re scaling fast…
We have been hiring around 1-2 employees per month. You can check our team page ( https://serpapi.com/team ) against its WaybackMachine ( http://web.archive.org/web/20220127075144/https://serpapi.co... ). It’s less than we were targeting and are still hiring. Around 40-50 this year. Regarding onboarding and tenure, we have virtually 0% turn over so far - which is one of the strongest if not the strongest metric for m…

#427We're obsessed with the emergent complexity of human systems like organisations, markets, communities, and countries, and the uncertainty that complexity generates. We believe that uncertainty is a core reason why building things is so hard: 90% of startups fail, 80% of government change efforts fail, and 90% of infrastructure projects go over budget. We believe far better ways of managing and governing exist in the search space, but we need new computational tools to carry out the search.
We're betting that LLMs unlock new kinds of computational models of human systems which will enable decision-makers to accurately simulate counterfactuals and make better decisions. Our first product accurately simulates how groups of people answer questions, targeting the ~$100B research market. We've just raised a pre-seed and are now hiring founding engineers.

Of course! For us, it’s important to understand that we already have many, _many_ people that know biology. So what we’re really targeting is the engineering chops. Again, anyone interested to see if they like it/could learn it, I encourage you to check our learngenomics.dev
