---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: John Ackerly Date: Fri, Jul 31, 2015 at 1:25 PM Subject: Our Sincere Apologies for Our Earlier Email To: Cc: Will Ackerly
Earlier today, we sent an email notifying just over 460 of our users that their browsers had not yet updated to the latest release of the Virtru browser extension.
Our Company policy when sending this type of notification is to include user email addresses in the "bcc" field to maintain anonymity. In this case, the email addresses were inadvertently added to the "CC" field.
This type of mistake is unacceptable to Will, me and all of us at Virtru. We take any such incident very seriously. We are evaluating our systems and processes to determine how this happened. We will take corrective action and add additional safeguards to ensure that this can never happen again.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this mistake. We are deeply remorseful, and accept full responsibility for the incident. If you would like to discuss this matter, or anything else, please feel free to contact either Will or me directly.
Sincerely,
John and Will
