Pope Francis Calls for Action on Climate Change

For centuries, the Church has encouraged large families, perhaps to grow the constituency, so to speak? In the last century of course, they invented a big push against birth control. I don't think the bible mentioned avoiding conception.

In my neighborhood growing up in the East, most families had one or two kids but the Catholic ones often had ten or more. Large houses were common.

The point is, overpopulation is one of the root causes of warming. It's high time for all of us to turn it down a notch. So kudos to the new church.
