First US-made Smartphone Just As Cheap To Produce

The company I work for tries to get things done in Mexico and Brazil, as far as possible, because they were bleeding money to unionized labor here. I wonder how the Moto X gets around this. Was it designed with an eye on increased automation of assembly?
