#4I don't really know what to say at this point. The bill had a few good aspects, a few bad aspects, but it generally seemed like an overwrought an unnecessary annoyance rather than a "protection of rights" bill like Rogers likes to put it.
We may simply have to wait and see.

I think he will veto it to assert his dominance when his threats to veto are not taken to heart. That or he was bluffing again.

His threats to veto it guaranteed that the Republicans would all line up behind it.
So we've got the people who've been saying they're libertarians and he's a socialist tyrant for years, and they're determined to give him and the federal government more power. Because he doesn't want it.

The last full-term President with fewer vetoes was a member of the Whig party.

To be fair, these has been the most unproductive congresses since the 1940s, so take your statistic with a grain of salt.

It reminds me of "On the Day Before" from The West Wing:
Toby: The President said he was gonna veto the bill. C.J. announced he was gonna veto the bill. He's gonna veto the bill.

Josh: Sir, if the House successfully overrides the veto, we're gonna look weak.
Bartlet: If the House successfully overrides the veto, we are weak.
In essence, if President Obama fails to make good on his promise to veto it, he will look weak and cannot use it as a negotiation position next time. Congress won't believe him.
So yeah, I'm pretty confident he's gonna veto it, regardless of his actual position on the law (which may be good enough). But in terms of politics, not vetoing it would be a blow. Hopefully they won't override his veto.
