I have installed XAMPP 1.8.1 on my windows 7 64 bit machine. I have started MySQL, Apache, and FileZilla as services. In localhost/xampp, at the status part, I have mysql database is deactivated.
I really need help, I have searched online for hours and I still have not got any solution.

#2Check the logfiles, they're in xampp folder. It might help to check if there is another mysqld running from a previous install on the system, or if the Windows firewall prevents Mysql from running.
