Show HN: Kitsunagu – A platform to find English-speaking professionals in Japan

#1
Hey HN. hrk and I are 2 expats who've been living in Japan for almost 10 years.

One of the problems we ran into after moving here is that, even though we were learning Japanese, for some stuff you really want to be helped in a language that you're 100% comfortable in.

Like if you have to go to the doctor, or even worse, if you need a lawyer for some reason.

It turns out, it's not that easy to find English-speaking doctors or lawyers in Japan. Typically we'd just ask people we know but that's very ad-hoc.

So we built a site, kitsunagu.com - it tries to solve exactly that problem. It's a directory of English-capable professionals in Japan. We started off with lawyers and are now hard at work at finding doctors.

We thought we'd show it off here because we'd like to get some feedback on the overall usability of the site. Of course, if you're actually living in Japan like us, definitely let us know if you'd actually use a site like this, and what you'd like to see improved. If you're not living in Japan, you can still tell us where the site sucks. It's hard to see what you're missing after you've been heads down in a project for a while so maybe you can help us find some blind spots.

Anyway, this is our first HN post, hope it goes well and thanks!

I added one clinic, but I can add more in the coming days. Thanks for making this, I hope many users can benefit from it.

Oh, the animated bouncing firms on either side of the search box... Not to my taste, but somebody might think it's fun?

Hey mc3301, thank you so much. We really appreciate you adding the clinic.

We're actively working on adding those so if you know any more clinics definitely add them.

If you want to add a bunch, feel free to just send us an email at contact@kitsunagu.com if that's easier.

Thanks also for the feedback on the bouncing cards. Have you tried making the screen narrower? It them becomes a carousel. Do you think that works better?
