One amusing example where the article violates its own advice: #18 uses a regex to parse `theme=dark&lang=en`, then #20 recommends using dedicated parsers for query strings.

In that case I'd probably reach for `URLSearchParams` before `matchAll()`.

Maybe that's actually the bigger "modern JavaScript trick": knowing enough of the platform APIs that you don't need the clever trick in the first place.
