The fact that sterile mosquito drops were stopped due to the pandemic, was the cause, together with the fact that after the pandemic no measures were taken to compensate this, even if it was obvious that they are imperatively needed.
There is no relationship between the number of migrants and this.
If there was an increase in smuggling cattle over the Gap, that could have contributed, but the human migrants do not carry the flies.

Keep in mind that much of there industrial and agricultural industries are unregulated, and the whole thing can be taken as an example of what is wanted by the elites in the "civilised first world"

The article is about humans carrying the fly larvae, we can’t really know, can we? Not only that, but this volume of movement opens up trails; people bring along dogs and other animals that can also be carriers.
When I lived near cattle farming areas, sanitary barriers where both cars and people had to pass through a pool of biocide were common, to kill any eggs being carried in the dirt on the tires and shoes.
