It might be a quiet A-B test they're running, but there are several reports now of Claude Code reporting that Fable usage is no longer subscription based and requires using usage credits.

i get displayed translated "Fable is further in your max plan. If you get messages "credits needed." just to restart CC.

Its shown on the web-interface / settings / usage

I was using it normally ~16 hours ago and now it also wants API credits to continue. It was nice while it lasted

Spending $200 a month out of my own pocket, and now asking for more.. ugh.
