That's one part of it. The current Government of Spain also believes it's a ploy to cause their electoral defeat in the future and help the Spanish right- come to power, and that this has been orchestrated by the US and Israel via Morocco as a proxy.

- Why did nearly 60,000 migrants suddenly storm the border into Spain? - https://www.rt.com/news/643727-spain-ceuta-crisis-explainer/

- Spanish commentators accuse Israel and US of involvement in Ceuta crisis - https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/spanish-minister-clashes-...

- The right’s exploitation of the Ceuta migrant ‘crisis’ almost guarantees that it will happen again - https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/aug/03/right-...

The current government of Spain did anger Netanyahu / Israel by publicly and harshly criticising the ongoing Gaza genocide, recalling their diplomats from Israel and by granting recognition to Palestine, while it pissed of Trump / US by not allowing the use of its bases for the current Israel-US-Iran war. Doesn't help that the current leaders of Spain and the US + Israel are ideologically on the opposing ends of the political spectrum.

Next step: accusing Israel in general and Netanyahu in particular in causing the climate change.

When there is smoke, there is often a fire. Columbia's Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio has also accused Israel and US of political interference and electoral manipulations - https://www.rt.com/news/643770-colombia-trump-palestine-isra... :

> Petro severed diplomatic ties with Israel in 2024 over its military campaign in Gaza, repeatedly accusing West Jerusalem of committing genocide and becoming one of Israel’s fiercest critics in Latin America. He also suspended all Israeli arms purchases, ending Colombia’s long-standing reliance on Israeli military technology, banned coal exports to Israel, and later expelled Israel’s remaining diplomats after an aid flotilla carrying Colombian activists was intercepted by Israeli forces. Colombia also formally joined South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

> Petro is due to hand power to President-elect de la Espriella on August 7. He has said he will not attend the inauguration, challenged the legitimacy of the election, and alleged that Israel manipulated Colombia’s presidential vote by hacking election servers. Apart from aligning Colombia more closely with Washington, de la Espriella has pledged to restore full diplomatic ties with Israel, effectively reversing nearly every major foreign-policy decision of the Petro administration.
