I don't even understand the mindset of the question. It's like asking, if ingredients were added to the recipe, why did it get worse?

Because we were all sold on the obviously naïve promise of techno utopianism which argued that via technology, we would all live in a more pleasant verdant and equitable world. Obviously, this has not been the case.

Because we were all sold on the obviously naïve promise of techno utopianism which argued that via technology, we would all live in a more pleasant verdant and equitable world. Obviously, this has not been the case.

I don't know why that premise was ever accepted. The same tool has been used for both good and evil since rocks and sticks.
