I always have background tasks running, whether it’s Cursor, Codex or Claude Code programming in the background, a download, an upload, or something else. The problem was that my screen would turn off, instantly interrupting whatever was running, which was extremely annoying.

I also noticed my aunt had the same issue at work. She couldn’t step away from her computer for a few minutes without the screen turning off automatically, causing her to appear offline or inactive in her work apps.

So I made this app to fix it.

Background:

I wanted a simple way to keep my computer awake only when I actually needed it, without changing power settings or constantly moving the mouse.

The result is a lightweight app that prevents your screen from turning off while background tasks are running or while you need to stay active. No unnecessary features, just a simple solution to an annoying problem.

I’d love any feedback, suggestions, or ideas for improving it.

Thanks!

Obligatory xkcd https://xkcd.com/196/

I can put it in the backgroung. It's a problem because I may like to see the output of whatever taks I'm waiting for.

I suspect most tracking software at work would not like this. Also, it's too obvious it's just a clock. I remember a fake google or spreadsheet in some old games.
