Yes, but it would require lawmakers and regulators to put reforms in place to move away from financializing-all-the-things to something different. Right now, the money is in financializing-all-the-things, so that isn't going to stop. Most can't even articulate with the something different could be - reindustrialization with stronger labor laws? Anti-monopoly moves to break up big corporations into smaller ones and prevent M&As?
The ultimate check is some form of socialist revolution, which then ends up swinging to the extreme the other way. There never seems to be a balance.

The linked article was supposedly written 15th July 2026, and shortly afterwards ... the next 24 hrs it was submitted to HN. [1] When I ran across the article at HN I saw it was indeed dead - I checked HN's submissions to articles from the site and most submissions are dead so maybe I thought - not much value in this particular site. However being curious I read the article and it seemed very interesting and the story seemed sufficiently vetted / proof read. I then searched for topics discussing cookware along with some possible descriptors at HN and don't recall seeing anything similar. Being interesting to me and since some people still cook and would probably have some interest it occurred to me to vouch for it. Oh yes, I'd also been burned by the pyrex brand. I'm also thankful I didn't get one particular brand of blender that used inferior steel processing.
