I sort of agree, and sort of not. The decision to cheat on exhaust fumes was taken by senior executives. How many of them are being laid off?

They really don't care. Take a look at their electric stuff. Build crap, sell it! There are some people who will buy it.
AUDI, Skoda or Seat should get their engines and base from other brands or make them. They are just selling bad **t with other name, still better than VW but not much better because the bad base is there.
Since 2015 that we know what VW is. Just don't buy their crap.
And when you're on the road, if you are behind a VW or sister company, close the intake air. Let's also say that is not just VW, maybe I could say other names like Renault... but that's for another time.

True. Imagine that I worked for VW or you. What could you do? Nothing. That was simply an atitude that 'no one will get use or touch us'. Who was in jail after that? One guy in US was in for some time, don't know how much.
But they could build great cars if they wanted. They also wanted to make VW to be the 'AUDI' VW and put AUDI in second place. There are so many stories to talk about VW that we would need an year.
But let's not forget the monkey story.

The CEO (Martin Winterkorn) was "laid off" and 4 others were convicted of fraud.
