sigh the thing is, and this is especially true for conservatives and bigots, what counts as “American,” regardless of citizenship paperwork or what arbitrary plot of land you were born in, is ultimately left to their own interpretation.

#52% of US population are in prison. So for 700 my reaction is "only"? Goverment agency with such powers should find at least 7 million people with unpaid parking tickets, unpaid student loans or pending child support... teachers who raped their students... hell, half of US population should be in prison for breaking some law!

#6Ironically, the wording on this site does a good job of explaining how “aliens” live among us and we didn’t even notice any negative impact or harm from that happening.
But MAGA brownshirts will never pick up on that level of nuance.
I also think the intended audience of this website doesn’t have the patience or reading ability to wait through that endless scroll of text.

Reality gets very grim and you lose hope in others when you see people who you thought otherwise reasonable defending this.
You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs. Perfect is the enemy of good. This is acceptable collateral damage. The number is surprisingly low. I've seen so many bullshit justifications like these.

I’m pretty sure MAGA has already floated the idea of indiscriminately putting Democrats in prison, as well as making criticism of Dear Leader a crime.
