#2As someone who only uses hardware passkeys I do find it annoying some how many software vendors want me to trust their software based passkeys. Even if yes some may be backed by some sort of "enclave" or "secure element".
The credential being entirely isolated from a device is the point for me.
The other point this ad piece ignores is too many platforms restrict you to using a single passkey and forcing you through some recovery workflow should you ever lose access to it.
