#2If I was trying to turn Paramount into a like right-leaning culture war friendly entertainment company, I would have given Taylor Sheridan whatever he wanted, and changed the name to "Paramount, brought to you by Taylor Sheridan".
I remember when this first started, I thought to myself, how are you going to bring back 80's style American jingoism with only one director doing it, then I find out it was worse then that, because they drove that one director away.

#8Netflix has the distribution already, it doesn't need legacy IP. Paramount is betting that combining DC, Harry Potter, GoT, Top Gun, and Star Trek under one roof creates enough gravity to survive. You really think Paramount cares about the IP and not just controlling the platforms to wield political power?
If they wanted the policial platforms and had offered to buy them from Warner as standalone for a tenth of the cost Warner would have snapped their hand off.
They need the IP for scale. That is what this is about.
