They just sent out email about the scam. I was so annoyed that even after opening the app, the notification icon still persists, wondering if the hack on the notifications exploits some loophole in the Betterment app

Email from Betterment one hour ago:

"Important update regarding unauthorized message

Earlier this evening you may have received a message referencing a crypto-related Betterment promotion.

This was an unauthorized message sent via a third-party system we use for marketing and other customer communications. Please note that this is not a real offer and should be disregarded. We apologize for any confusion."

Why would anyone use betterment anyway? What do they actually offer that's even remotely attractive?
