Worth reading.
Cuts through and gets to the reason for the AI hype and what AI is actually all about (automation in a shiny wrapper and is little more than a “stochastic parrot”, a term that she coined in a 2021 paper).

#3Companies are swiftly moving from an "intelligence" narrative to an "augmentation" narrative (I think it's also doomed).
I think the linguists already won, but the AI tale is so tall it hasn't had the time to hit the ground yet.
LLMs will probably find some use though.
