#22. This is about "VPNs" which are not true Virtual Private Networks but more anonymizing or semi anonymizing gateway services.
I use a WireGuard VPN to connect to services at home from my phone that I don't want on the public internet, and that is an actual VPN in the classic sense. And in this use case I don't want all traffic to go through it because that would be annoying. VPN infrastructure was designed with this case in mind and this paid service approach (do you really trust it?) is just piggybacking on the technology.
