SAR sounds like it’s doing the heavy lifting here. Can anyone shed light on how SAR and ML works together? Radar data fed into feature identification?

This is a pretty vague article - it doesn't mention names, institutions, or even where this evidence was discovered.

I did a quick search, and found a couple other articles that expound on the details.

I found some other articles that go into further detail, and name one of the lead researchers involved.
