Wait, you mean the minister for telecommunications had to do BGP? The guy doing Ag. Needed to operate a corn header? What does this mean for the lord privy seal who is neither a lord, nor a privy nor a seal?

The minister is expected to have competent advice. As some stage a photo opportunity will emerge. And like Margaret Thatcher they will be photographed driving a tank with helmet and googles, despite not actually being a licenced tank driver.

Has the Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine ever farmed?

Has the Minister for Education and Youth been an educator?

Has the Minister of State at the Department of Transport ever helped build a road?

Has the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration ever been an immigrant?

All those might be true. Just don't stop there. What actual competencies are then required to be the minister of something? ;-)
