#7It is well known that Metformin does what it does by modifying (in some sense -- I am not a cell biologist) the mitochondria. There is also some evidence that, in addition to helping the body to regulate blood glucose, Metformin reduces cancer risk. Could it be that Metformin reduces cancer risk by reducing the ability of cancer cells to attack mitochondria?

Conclusion: Metformin does not significantly prolong the overall survival and progressive-free survival of cancer patients, but it may effectively reduce the risk of cancer occurrence.
