#6Dupe often means duplicate discussion . If you see a dupe, there's usually an ongoing/recent discussion elsewhere already, from a main source or news item. Want to add to the conversation? Share a link in the discussion instead of splitting it up. News stories reporting on the same topic without really adding anything substantial to the discussion are dupes.
I thought that if something has no value, it won’t be upvoted or discussed, so practically no one will see it.
If "dupe" usually means a duplicate discussion, then marking something as a dupe where there isn’t even a discussion yet, and according to you it has no value/substance, so there won’t be any, is nonsense.
I'm just waiting for shadow bans, because of supporting the elites and every hype at the expense of the herd, actually, I wouldn't be surprised if it was already happening here too.
