#2This is a well-known rite of passage in academic physics and mathematics. But it is usually celebrated by junior members of the profession who think they’ve made it because some layman wrote them to ask their opinion on some topic. But the author is emeritus so I guess he just wanted some diversion by publishing a fluff piece
