Thinking about causation versus correlation is crucial!

Makes me wonder, how often do people realize this only after making expensive decisions?

Would be interesting to hear stories from people who have experienced this first hand

This is absolutely true for engineering teams. While people overuse Goodhart law but the fault is in the foundation.

The Goodhart Law doesn’t really apply in sales or operations because output there is directly proportional to the business outcome.
