Please don't comment on whether someone read an article. "Did you even read the article? It mentions that" can be shortened to "The article mentions that".
I think this rule contributes to people not reading. One should be shamed for not reading an article they comment on, and more importantly, see others shamed for not reading it.(yes I read the article)
EDIT: It's unfortunate that the article is on such a self-promoting website, as well as soliciting upvotes, and as a result died, because I do think this is a discussion worth having.
