#2It is very much a fork of VS Code at the moment but I appreciate the massively reduced friction getting R up and running. While RStudio is still the best IDE for R, it is beginning to feel dated and this will likely overtake it as the main environment in relatively short time.

#3Kinda logical as Rstudio really lacks a lot niceties from more robust code editors.
I am wishing them the best but I would be shocked if it drags me out of my ESS Emacs corner.

I tried Positron and it is really set up to feel like RStudio from the get go. excellent job to transition Rstudio users to Positron in the future (if that is the goal)
