i feel like this need to come with a warning about this advice is ONLY for people without traumatic relationships with their parents. I know there are a lot of us out there:

but I see these "call your mom" articles all the time that really make the CPTSD victim feel even worse than they already do.

This is IMHO a trigger warning too far and is also sooo culturaly tonedeaf it's not even funny...

Losts of ways to stay connected.

Go out to lunch with my Mom every Tuesday. I don't take her; we take other people. Invite whatever grandkids are in town; invite friends or other relatives. We choose the place, make the plan, go out. Sometimes just her and me, but more often several of us.

Some weeks, the only thing she does to leave her village. She's in an assisted-living place, they take care of everything but still getting out is huge.
