#4My mother, who moved out of Iran right before the revolution _still_ lowers her voice when talking about certain subjects of Iran. When no one else is in the room, in the United States of America. It's deeply engrained in her mind.
It's very refreshing to hear this man's opinion. But remember, this is rare. This man could have died on one of the many times when he was protesting hamas. Some of his friends were not so lucky. We are lucky to be hearing his voice.

#5But (my impression) the campus protesters are just angry young people, consumed with the needs to vent their anger, and to look good to their peers via performative activism. Neither the impressions they are giving to others, nor the effects on the long-term welfare of the Palestinian people matter much to them.
