#4FWIW I get tuta.com as the first result for "tuta" and "tutanota login" queries (without quotes)... (I'm not logged in to any Google services on this machine, and sitting in the middle of Europe, if it means anything)
Logged in.

#5Considering that Google is a direct competitor with Tuta in the context of email I don't see how this isn't illegal, anti-competitive behavior. Google would be stupid to blame this on their algo because that has second order consequences which would cost them more than paying a settlement to Tuta and knocking this nonsense off.

#8Second: If you want https://mail.tutanota.com/login to rank for "tutanota login" you should put the word "Tutanota" somewhere in the title tag of that page.
Additionally, Google has no cached version of that page so there's probably some technical problem (if past experience is any guide, the problem is not on Google's side). https://mail.tutanota.com/ also has no sitemap.xml or robots.txt file. It is extremely unlikely this is some conspiracy and more likely some failure of the most basic SEO measures.

What do you mean by "second order consequences?" Also, what if this is caused by a bug in Google's search engine? Would that also be illegal? Is it anti-competitive if Google made a mistake?

This is misconfig, either on Tuta's part or Google's (Google's search result infrastructure is distributed and sometimes a cluster just plain goes down without enough replicas to maintain the search hierarchy integrity; that isn't considered a P0 failure because users still get results back, just not the results they usually get).
