Typical of AI all along --- a quest to build AGI without understanding or even defining what "intelligence" really means or requires.
It's modern day alchemy --- striving for a fantastical result to just "emerge" while lacking fundamental insight and understanding or any workable plan or reason for believing it is even possible.
