This is only happening because of other structures that require removal and are killing fish in large numbers with cavitation. I believe the objects doing the mass kill off are slated for removal.

This sensationalist headline isn’t helping anyone. :(

Exactly -- if you read the article they were killed by a dam that hadn't been removed yet. So it's like, no, the dam removal did not kill the salmon, the lack of dam removal did.
