Do you plan to stay one-time fee or go for subscriptions?

In the "As seen on...", do you refer to this HN post with it? How about the StackOverflow? Asking as I might add similar section to a site.

The big question with these is whether / how you expect people to update. Or whether you just start with it and then never update.

We did https://bullettrain.co/ but the longer we're on it the more painful upgrades are and we've basically given up now.

What is your approach to this?

I was considering Bullet Train for a new project. Would you advise against it? What would you suggest for something new today?
