Urban golf courses making housing more expensive – taxpayers footing the bill

I'd rather see golf courses turned into wetlands/parks/forests/meadows than continue as the largest playing field of any game I know, except maybe lacrosse in the old days (but maintaining those grounds didn't require so much fertilizer, foreign grasses, or mowing with polluting machines).
